Steven Gillon is a Portuguese-American composer from Lisbon. Discovered the piano at the age of seventeen and started to work on his own compositions in the same year.
In 2016, he decided to deepen his musical knowledge, and had his first composition classes with the portuguese composer Tiago Sousa. During this time, he discovered several composers such as Federico Mompou, Alexander Scriabin, Arvo Pärt and Claude Debussy, who changed his notion of music and still have a big influence on his compositions.
In 2019 he released his first album called "Pequenas Inquietudes", which marked the start of his carreer has a composer. Today, he continues to work on his classical compositions, and is also starting a career as a film composer, after scoring the Short Film "Castelo", that was nominated by Fantasporto Film Festival for the category "Best Portuguese Film of the Year".
